Welcome to the home of the Tributary Tennis Challenge Ladders. The Challenge Ladders have been set up to promote friendly, competitive play within Tributary for tennis players of all skill levels. To see the current Ladders, click on either the Men's Singles or Women's Singles links.
If you are unfamiliar with a challenge ladder, it's pretty simple. Everyone participating is put into a list of players and given a number. You can challenge anyone that is within 3 spots of you (e.g. a player at the 8th spot could challenge player number 7, 6, or 5). If a challenger wins, they are moved to one spot above the player they just challenged. If they lose, nothing changes on the ladder. In this way, after people have played several matches, the ladder is automatically sorted by skill level and the people around you should be similar skill. This allows one ladder to host a wide range of skills -- from complete beginners to seasoned pros!
For the ultra-competitive, seeing if and how long you can hold on to the top-ranked spot is a challenging goal. For those that just want to play and have fun, forget the ranking itself and just join up so you have an easy way to schedule a match with someone at your same level in the neighborhood. Many people in the neighborhood are signing up (and paying) to be in flex leagues (K-Swiss, LeagueTennis, etc.) in order to get matches outside of ALTA. The Challenge Ladders were created as a way for people to get quality matches without having to pay to be in flex leagues, and avoid having to drive all over Metro Atlanta for the matches. It's also much more convenient then ALTA for many, since you can set your own schedule and only have to play when you are available.
